Laura had to say...
I am a "former" missionary who lives in a big 100-year old house in the inner-city where lots of people come to hang out, talk, get loved on, and sometimes stay awhile when they need a place. Our neighborhood is the most internationally and culturally diverse of any in the midwest. I help with admin for Rock (see web link), and work as a Realtor to "support my ministry habit".

I'm on Facebook... if you are too, maybe we can get together on there. Or if you're ever in KC, come by and if the espresso bar isn't already open, we will crank it up! 8^)

We love this site... and Paperback Swap too! The sites are especially helpful for us - helping to circulate lots of good books and movies, and keep a good library of them on hand for everyone to use.

I need to profusely apologize to whoever drew my name in the buddy swap, because I am drawing a blank. Wish list stuff (from this site or PBS) is always welcome of course! I love eagles, enjoy old and handmade things - especially when I know who made it, but even if not, sometimes I try and imagine what the person who made it must have been like. I like really good coffee and dark chocolate, and trying international food. I really enjoy getting to know people from other nations and cultures, so it carries over that I enjoy having international stuff in my home... wall hangings, books, maps, globes, etc, etc Since I have a semi-constant flow of guests through my house, I have a cabinet where I keep things like hotel soap and shampoo, and I go through alot of towels and sheets. I also use alot of kids' activity stuff (like games, coloring books and markers) for the same reason. I DON'T get much into little cosmetic or perfume-y kinds of things (such as bath stuff or lotions), so that kind of stuff (though appreciated) might get re-gifted or added to the hospitality cabinet.

I will try and think of more things (will keep posting more as I think of them), but I love surprizes, so maybe it's not so bad. Thank you!!! 8^)
